Tennessee River Gorge Trust Celebrates 3rd Annual ‘Another Gorgeous Evening’

  • Friday, April 26, 2013

The Tennessee River Gorge Trust will host a wonderful time on the banks of the Tennessee River on Saturday, May 11, at the beautiful Tennessee RiverPlace. ‘Another Gorgeous Evening’ will begin with an open bar and music by the Ben Friberg Trio. During the cocktail hour, there will be an appearance by a professional falconer.

People who attend will enjoy a dinner buffet on the lawn, courtesy of Alshabibi Catering. A live auction will follow with items that include: a 30" x 45"photo of the Gorge, printed on aluminum, by Kevin Livingood; two nights at the Dancing Bear Lodge; a wine collection donated by Board Members of the Trust; various celebrity-signed memorabilia including a guitar signed by the Rolling Stones, a lithograph signed by artist, LeRoy Neiman, and boxer, Muhammed Ali, and five amazing trips.

Trips include San Francisco and Sonoma Valley, a girls’ weekend shopping getaway, an Indy Car Racing experience, four nights at Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada, and a six-night Ireland Adventure.

This will be a fantastic evening for conservation in Chattanooga.  The Trust’s new executive director, Rick Huffines, will welcome guests and help raise awareness about the significance of protecting this special place. “We want people to come out to the Gorge, explore it and learn to love it. Everyone is a conservationist on some level — and it’s time to celebrate what our supporters have done to protect the Gorge over the last 32 years,” said Mr. Huffines.

All of the money raised during ‘Another Gorgeous Evening’  will help the Trust continue its mission of land protection, education and stewardship.
