The house comes with boat dock, hot tub, gas grill, fire pit, wood burning fireplace(wood provided), 1canoe, 2 kayaks, 1 anglers kayak and is great for fishing and water sports. House in Chattanooga, TN
3.2 miles from Nickajack Lake
Note: An early check in and/or late check out is an available option for an additional $45 Each per stay 20 minutes from downtown (Tennessee Aquarium Imax Theater, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Ruby Falls, Rock City, and so much more) Get away from it all and still have high speed internet and multiple TVs Spacious outdoor deck with refregitor and sitting area right next to river, three comfortable decks off the back of the house (one screened in), plus a huge attached patio with a grill and dinning table for six, a floating dock for those who bring a boat, and both bedrooms and entertainment room and kitchen overlook the Tennessee River. Just recently, renovations were made to the house that include updated bathrooms and kitchen, full paint job and new flooring in parts, and all new furniture. The key to this rental home is the setting, huge grass yard, pavilion and dock, fabulous views of the river and surrounding mountains, and tons of clean/renovated space for ten. And for full disclosure, we inspect the home inside and out just before any renters arrive, so the interior should be perfect, but there is a chance that our local spiders and bugs might build some webs in the interim so be ready to be away from the city and in nature. This cabin comfortably sleeps ten (10), with 1 king sized bed in the master bedroom on the main level with a full bath and a bunk room off the bathroom for little ones (these twin beds are in the back closet of the bathroom), one (1) queen sized bed with it's own bathroom, and (2) twins in another bedroom upstairs as well as one (1) queen sized bed with a full kitchen and bathroom in a large TV/game room with games and a pool table (all downstairs with it's own entrance). Maximum occupancy at all times is 10 people. This property is about 12 miles from downtown, but sometimes feels further because of the slow, narrow, winding river road. The view is fantastic however, and provides a wonderful way to slow down from hectic daily life! Historic log cabin on the Tennessee River built in 1835. Get away from it all and still have high speed internet and a Smart TV Deck and great room overlook the Tennessee River. ???????Part of the Tennessee River Gorge Trust and at the trailhead for the Pot Point Loop Trail. Located on over 400 acres of protected natural lands on the banks of the Tennessee River, the Pot Point Cabin was originally built in 1835. The cabin was constructed from hand-hewn logs and planks reclaimed from flat boats wrecked on the “Boiling Pot” rapid on the Tennessee River. In 1993, renovations were made to the original cabin that included a great room with floor to ceiling windows that provide a scenic view of the Tennessee river, an upstairs bathroom with shower, a downstairs wheelchair accessible bathroom, and a small but serviceable kitchen. There are two decks overlooking the river. This cabin comfortably sleeps ten (10), with 1 king sized bed in one room on the lower level, one (1) queen sized bed and (2) twins in another room upstairs as well as one (1) queen sized bed and two (2) single beds across the hall, in another room on the same level. Downstairs there is a large table that seats six in the TV/game room (the TV gets no channels, it is a smart TV and there is a DVD player), as well as a beautiful large farmers table in the great room to seat the entire family. The downstairs TV/game room and upstairs sleeping areas are all in the original part of the cabin built in 1835. Maximum occupancy at all times is 10 people. This property is about 12 miles from downtown, but sometimes feels further because of the slow, narrow, winding river road. The view is fantastic however, and provides a wonderful way to slow down from hectic daily life! Across the road up the driveway a bit and to the left, this cabin even has its own Self-Guided Nature Trail. It is a moderately strenuous, 3.5 mile loop trail featuring some steep climbs and reaching over 1,000 feet in altitude around Azalea Point. Along with the recreational experience, hikers will be able to enjoy the rich biodiversity that is found in the Tennessee River Gorge. For a trail map, go to:http://www.trgt.org/explore Learn more about the Tennessee River Gorge Trust here : http://www.trgt.org/#homepage Water at Pot Point is well water and is considered non-potable (Not drinkable). We do however provide a 5 gallon cooler of potable (drinkable) water for our guests. We also recommend that you bring your own drinking water. This property is on a well and sometimes with over use of water the well pump may not keep up and may take several hours torefill the tank. Please use water sparingly. ???????Please note: Log cabins have the tendency to leak when it rains very hard.  Every effort is made to avoid this but we have thus far been unable to avoid it.  The Chattanooga, TN-GA Metropolitan Area, is an area consisting of six counties – three in southeast Tennessee (Hamilton, Marion, and Sequatchie) and three in northwest Georgia (Catoosa, Dade, and Walker) – anchored by the city of Chattanooga. Enjoy a great vacation in this comfy home located directly on the Tennessee River! Two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with two beds (one full and one twin), and a queen sleeper sofa in the living area provide plenty of room for the family, sleeping up to 6. All the mattresses and the sleeper sofa are new. Stairs lead up to the covered front porch where you'll step into the roomy open living area, offering plenty of seating, TV with basic cable, Blue Ray DVD player, WiFi, dining table, and a fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom off the kitchen area has a tub with shower. All bedding and towels are provided. Out the back door, you'll be delighted to find a beautiful glassed-in porch with comfy seating for relaxing with a book, a dining table for meals or playing board games with the family, and an amazing view of the river across the lawn - heat/air make this room a year-round be your favorite spot in the house! A deck off this room provides an outdoor seating area where you can be serenaded by the birds or just veg out while watching the beautiful river life. Stairs from the deck lead down to a pretty lawn with roses, flowering trees and plenty of room to cook on the grill, play lawn games with the family, eat at the outdoor table, or settle back around the fire pit while you enjoy sunsets over the river and surrounding ridges. There is a walkway out to the floating dock, perfect for fishing or, if you are bringing a boat, the perfect place to head out to explore the area. At the end of the dock is a fixed ladder for those who want to swim. There is a small dirt ramp near the dock for walking back out onto shore or for getting kayaks in/out of the water. The Suck Creek Boat Ramp,a public ramp with parking, is just 1 1/2 miles away from the property so you can launch your boat there and drive it down to the dock, which is what we do. Kayaks and other water craft can be rented nearby to further enhance your River Living experience! You can also request a kayak, single or double, made available at our property for a small fee. In the basement, accessible from an outside door, is the laundry room with washer and dryer, storage space for some of your gear, and another bathroom with a shower- a nice convenience for your outdoor activities! Our River home is also the perfect location for accessing all the exciting events and tourist attractions Chattanooga has to offer. Check out the Chattanooga Visitor Center online or downtown for more information on all the exciting things to see and do in the area!

You can reach hiking trails by foot from the driveway about 1/4 mile in either direction. My husband has made a trail out the back gate that connects to the Cumberland Trail, you may need him to guide you to find it. This is an entire fully furnished home all you need is a suitcase and you! We even keep some food items on hand in case you arrive hungry. It is very welcoming and homey. Cabin (500 sq. ft.) in Chattanooga, TN
7.5 miles from Nickajack Lake
Sophie is one of several quaint, small, rustic-comfort log homes on a wooded property surrounded by National Park land just a stone throw from the TN River, one mile from South Broad and Ruby Falls at the foot of Lookout Mtn. This wonderful natural and heavily wooded setting is nested by the city with quick access to downtown and Lookout. You will enjoy a furnished back deck, covered front porch, and an incredibly memorable space for your family getaway. Sophie is the third cabin east side. Starting in the back, Sophie (named after our third daughter), boasts a back deck with Adirondack chairs. The Master hosts a queen bed, washer and dryer, storage and TV. Just out of the master is a built in bunk bed situated just across the hall from the full bathroom. Through the hall we enter the kitchen, full stocked for cooking/dining with an electric range, microwave, stove, full-size fridge, cabinets and a bar. The living room and kitchen are open space with the main TV across from the sofa. The loft has two twin beds along with a chest of drawers for clothes storage. Clearance in the loft is low, at just 4' - it is a sleep loft, not a stand up and walk around space. Even though we our compound is literally surrounded by National Park land, it is an urban setting. Meaning, it's just off US HY 41, Cummings Highway, just about one mile before it becomes Broad St. with runs straight to the Aquarium. There are active train tracks that border the property north and I-24 is just about 1/2 mile away so there is some ambient city noise. The property is situated at the foot of Lookout Mountain, with many rock outcroppings and fairly steep inclines upon entering the cabin park. It is an old park under steady renovation - ie, taming the english ivy and beautifying the shaded deeply forested setting. You are one mile from Ruby Falls, 4.5 miles straight down Cummings/Broad to the TN Aquarium, less than one mile to a few of the National Park Lookout Mountain Trail Heads, and just 2.5 miles to the hips Southside of Chattanooga. Rock City is just up the Mountain on the GA side.
